Granada, Spain

Before we start bombarding you with tips and recommending places, we want to explain why we decided to get married in Granada. 11 years ago, when we were getting to know each other, Alejandro told Patrizia that he grew up in the most beautiful city in the world. Patrizia told him that couldn't be. She was from Caracas, a city surrounded by a beautiful mountain call El Avila that has the best climate in the world. Alejandro invited Patrizia to his beloved Granada in the summer of 2015. To her great surprise, she fell in love with the city. From its streets, some very Spanish and others that seem like you're in Morocco, Granada is a mix of cultures and colors that enchants anyone. That's not all; Granada has one of the most impressive monuments in the world, The Alhambra. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. This impressive fortress accompanies the city at all hours. The views from the San Nicolas viewpoint, accompanied by a flamenco dancer, are unmatched. Between the Alhambra, the food, and the warmth of the Andalusian people help convince Patrizia that Alejandro was right. Granada is unique.

Since then, we have spent many summers riding in Alejandro’s motorcycle around Granada. It is where we go to disconnect from our responsibilities. It is where we met and spent quality time back when we were in a long-distance relationship. Our goal is for you to come and fall in love with Granada as Patrizia did in the summer of 2015 (it also helped that she was in love with Alejandro), but we are content if you fall in love with Granada.

How to get there?

The easiest way to get to Granada is by plane. First, fly to Madrid (Barajas), then take the connection to Granada (Federico Garcia Lorca Granada-Jaen Airport). The flight duration from Madrid to Granada is 40 minutes.

An alternative way is to fly to Malaga and then drive or take a bus to Granada.

The third option (possibly the cheapest) is to fly to Madrid and then take a bus. This trip takes 4.5 hours. This option is only recommended if you have high levels of patience and you are young*

  • Sometimes when we come and we are still used to the American schedule of having lunch at 12 pm and we have to wait until 3 pm to have lunch with the family, we sneak away quietly and eat a montadito here to hold us over.
